1. Thomas Jefferson1 Gray (#1) was born in Alabama ABT. 1861. Thomas died February 18, 1905 in Oklahoma or Missouri.
He married Mary E. Bowback in Stoddard County, Missouri, October 17, 1882. (Mary E. Bowback is #2.) Mary was born in Missouri 1859. Mary died January 1, 1905 in Oklahoma or Missouri, at 45 years of age. Information about Thomas "Jeff" Jefferson Gray comes from Lizzie's bible. Her bible states that he died on 2/18/1905 and that he was 43 years old at the time of his death. From that, I've extrapolated that he was born either in 1861 or 1862.
Thomas Jefferson Gray and Mary E. Bowback had the following children:
2 i. Lizzie Jane2 Gray (#3) was born in Dexter, MO August 7, 1883. Lizzie died January 11, 1964 in Tustin, CA, at 80 years of age. She married Jesse James Johnson in Missouri, December 8, 1900. (Jesse James Johnson is #35.) Jesse was born in Crawford Co., AR August 17, 1881. Jesse was the son of John T. Johnson and Mary Ann Hatridge. Jesse died ABT. 1947 in California. (See Jesse James Johnson for the continuation of this line.)
3 ii. Hulda Gray (#4) was born March 10, 1887. Hulda died January 6, 1909 at 21 years of age.
4 iii. Ida Gray (#5) was born December 26, 1888. Ida died December 1, 1909 at 20 years of age.
5 iv. Clara Gray (#6) was born March 13, 1891. Clara died ABT. 1995 in Pomona. She married Orn Peters. (Orn Peters is #12.) (See Orn Peters for the continuation of this line.)
+ 6 v. Jesse James Gray was born November 23, 1895.
+ 7 vi. Clarence Gray was born May 13, 1898.
8 vii. Harry Gray (#9) was born May 13, 1898. Harry died June 15, 1898 at less than one year of age. Harry was Clarence's twin, who died in infancy.
9 viii. Oscar Gray (#10) was born 1900. Oscar died June 21, 1901 at less than one year of age. Age 1 year at death and date of death found in Lizzie's bible; date of birth extrapolated from that fact.
10 ix. Mary Gray (#11) was born May 1, 1903. Mary died ABT. 1934 in California. She married Luke Smith. (Luke Smith is #14.) i0 Luke is the brother of Matt Smith, who was Alice Johnson Barker Smith's second husband.
